How to: Set up an Auto-lock Automation in SmartThings

What you need to know before starting to use Automations:

Warning: This is a more advanced set of tools to use with your devices that are connected to SmartThings. Do not use this automation set up if you are unfamiliar with automations or are using Smart Rules and Workflows within your Lynx account. This is not done through Lynx.

To use SmartThings automations you will need the following

Updated SmartThings application for Android or iPhone
Connected SmartThings/Lynx Hub
Any connected SmartThings/Lynx compatible smart lock

How to access the automations menu

Open your SmartThings app
Log in using your Samsung account (if you are unsure of what that is please contact Lynx Support for assistance)
Once logged in, choose the correct location with the lock you want the Automations on by selecting the house icon at the top left.
Navigate to the "Automations" tab at the bottom of the screen

Step 1:	Select "Create routine"
Step 2:	Switch the view to "Custom"
Step 3:	Creating a custom Automation (routine) for your lock. Once in the Custom menu, select what trigger you are wanting. (Ex: Time would be used to create a routine to auto lock or unlock at a specific time)
Step 4:	Choose your time and t he days of the week you would like this automation to run.
Step 5:	Under "Then" choose "Control devices" and select the device you want to control with this schedule, in this case, your lock. Choose whether you want the lock locked or unlocked, and save. Delete any notifications if you do not want them.
Step 6:	This is how your automation will look when completed creating. "If it is 8:00 AM every day, then unlock the door" is now this reads
Step 7:	On the Automations home screen, make sure your Automation is switched on and it will run on the schedule until disabled. You can use this for auto locking and unlocking on a schedule.
