Understanding: Why guest code is not last 4 digit of guest phone number
The reason the last 4 digits of the Guest's phone number are not assigned is that code might be already in use.
It could be possible that this access code is assigned to one of the following:
- Emergency code
- Guest code- If the code is already been occupied by the current or upcoming guest then same code can not be assigned to another guest because of security reasons or the other way around is also true.
- Permanent user access code.
-
Reserved for Guest checkout code- Every property has its checkout code assigned to it. We also reserve few checkout codes that are easy to remember and can be used as checkout code. You check it under Groups > Create Guest Checkout code Learn how to setup guest checkout code.
-
Reserved for Task notification codes- These codes are reserved for the staff member who accesses the property like Housekeepers, cleaners etc. A workflow can be set up so that a user or guest can be notified once the user is done with their task. Learn more about workflows. You can check the reserved task notification codes under the Users Tab.
Since the code is being occupied, our system is not able to assign as access code for Guests (or shared key).
Important Note: The support team can enable a notification whenever a guest is not assigned the last 4 of guest's phone number then the super admin can be notified. Please reach out to support to get this feature enabled.
Important Note: Lynx reserves a few codes for Guest checkout codes and Task notification codes. These codes can not be used by any user, Guest, or Emergency codes.
