Compatible Devices: Lynx Hospitality TV
Lynx Hospitality TV can be installed on multiple smart TV operating systems ("OSs") for optimum flexibility depending on the customer's requirements. This article details the Smart TV hardware platforms that are confirmed to be compatible with Lynx Hospitality TV.

Requirements:
- Smart TVs with a compatible OS can install the Lynx Hospitality TV app directly, without any external hardware required.
- Other TVs that do not have a compatible OS built in will need to use an external HDMI streaming device, such as the Onn TV streaming stick that you can purchase pre-programmed from Lynx.

Special Considerations:
Differences in each smart TV and streaming device operating system's capabilities leads to different levels of feature support for the apps that run on each system, including the Lynx Hospitality TV app. At this time, Lynx recommends using the Google TV OS to run the Hospitality TV platform, due to its configurability, flexibility, and compatibility with all features in the Lynx Hospitality TV platform. Lynx will continue to update our recommendations for Smart TV platforms based on updates updates to the TV OSs, as well as new features released in the Hospitality TV app over time.
Compatible Google TV models:
Smart TVs and external HDMI streaming devices running the Google TV operating system provide extra configurability and options compared to other operating systems, enabling the optimum Lynx Hospitality TV experience.

TVs with Google OS are compatible without any external hardware needed. You can install the Lynx Hospitality TV app right from the Google Play store. |
A TV that supports Google Assistant does not necessarily mean it is a Google TV, or that it operates on Google OS! Ensure that these TV sets run on the Google TV OS. |

Note: Lynx does not recommend any specific TV from the list below, as the Lynx Hospitality TV Software app is available across all the compatible TV models. You can purchase a TV based on the price and features suitable for your business.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Certain Hisense TV models are not compatible with the Lynx Hospitality TV app due to lower CPU specifications. Currently we have confirmed this issue with the following model(s):
Hisense 50-Inch Class H5 Series 4K UHD HDR Google Smart TV (50H5BG, 2025 Model)

Chromecast or Google Streamer or Onn or Onn Streamer
- If your Smart TV does not have Google OS but has a HDMI port, you can use any Chromecast or Onn device with Google TV
- Available for purchase at Amazon, Google Store, and, Walmart
NOTE: Lynx Hospitality TV devices include a remote control that is pre-programmed for the HDMI device, but for a seamless guest experience, we recommend pairing this remote to control the volume up/down and power functions on the TV set. Compatible Roku TV and Roku Streaming Player models:
The Lynx Hospitality TV Software app will run on all currently-produced Roku models, as well as on many previous models that are capable of being updated to the latest version of Roku OS, including:
- All new Roku TV and Roku Streaming Player devices run the most recent versions of Roku OS, and support the Lynx Hospitality TV Software app for Roku.

Most recently-produced Roku TV and Roku Streaming Player devices can be updated to the latest Roku OS to ensure full compatibility with the Lynx Hospitality TV Software app for Roku. These include:
- All Roku devices running a minimum version of Roku OS 10.5, or
- All Roku devices manufactured after 2018
Note: Lynx does not recommend any specific device from the list below, as the Lynx Hospitality TV Software app is available across all the compatible Roku models. You can purchase a device based on the price and features suitable for your business.

Note: Ensure that "Guest Mode" is DISABLED on your Roku device! Roku OS does not permit selecting available apps in Guest Mode, and this will interfere with the functionality of the Lynx Hospitality TV Software app.
Compatible Fire TV models:
The Lynx Hospitality TV Software app is compatible with all Fire TV Stick devices and Fire TV-enabled smart TVs that run Fire OS 6 or higher, including:
Compatible Roku TV models:
- Fire TV Stick 4K – 1st Gen
- Fire TV Stick 4K Max – 1st Gen
- Fire TV Stick – 3rd Gen
- Fire TV Stick Lite
- Fire-TV–enabled Smart TVs (Insignia, Toshiba, JVC, Grundig, etc.)
For optimum performance, we recommend the "4K" series Fire Stick devices, including:
- Fire TV Stick 4K – 2nd Gen
- Fire TV Stick 4K Max – 2nd Gen
Important Note: Testing has found that the Lynx Hospitality TV app will not install and/or run properly on older and/or modified Fire TV devices, including:
- Fire TV Stick (1st & 2nd Gen, pre-2018)
- Any Fire TV device running Fire OS 5 or lower
- Rooted and/or modified Fire OS devices
