How To: Use the "Force Sync PMS Stays" Button

Overview:

 

Stay information typically syncs automatically from the PMS to Lynx at predefined intervals. However, in certain situations, you may need the stay data to sync instantly when changes are made in the PMS. The Force Sync PMS Stay(s) button allows you to trigger an immediate sync for specific operations. This article explains how the Force Sync PMS Stay(s) button works and the scenarios in which you can use it.

Benefits:

The Force Sync PMS Stay(s) button enables instant set up of stay information from PMS to Lynx for various operations. This feature ensures that any changes made in the PMS are reflected immediately in Lynx. Lynx syncs all the stay information that has been modified in the 30 minutes. The stay(s) can be for future or current business dates.

The syncing of stay information from PMS to Lynx on click of the Force Sync PMS Stay(s) button may take some time, depending on the amount of data being transferred, generally, it doesn't take more than 5 minutes to complete the process

 

Important information:

  • The Force Sync PMS Stay(s) button ensures instant synchronization of stay data from PMS to Lynx.
  • The button is only available if your property is linked to a PMS.
  • The sync process may take a few minutes to complete, depending on the data volume.
  • The Force Sync PMS Stay(s) button will be disabled for 5 minutes after a sync request to prevent accidental multiple syncs.
  • Once the synchronization process is complete, the button will become active again.

Steps to use Force Sync PMS Stays:

Step 1: Navigating to the "Force Sync PMS Stays" button
  1. Go to your account and click on the "Property" tab

2. Expand the concerned property and go to the "Stays" section

Step 2: Operations Triggering Sync

The Force Sync PMS Stay(s) button is found under the "Stays" tab:

The button will look like this:

You can use the Force Sync PMS Stay(s) button to sync stay information for the following actions:

  • Add a New Stay: Any new reservation added in the PMS will be synced to Lynx
  • Edit/Update Stay: Any updates made to existing stay data (such as changes in dates, guest details, etc.) in PMS will be synchronized to Lynx.
  • Delete/Cancel Stay: If a stay is cancelled or deleted in PMS, the update will be reflected in Lynx immediately upon sync
  • Move Stay from one Property to another Property in PMS: Changes related to stay moves from one property to another property within PMS will be synced to Lynx
  • Unit Move from One Property to Another in Lynx: If a unit is moved from one property to another in Lynx, this update will be synced once the Force Sync button is clicked
Step 3: After you click the button

Once you click the Force Sync PMS Stay(s) button, the following occurs:

  • A confirmation prompt will appear, asking if you are sure you want to initiate the syncing process
  • Force Sync PMS Stay(s): Click this option to confirm and initiate the sync from PMS to Lynx. 
  • Skip Sync: Click this option if you choose not to proceed with the sync at that moment 
Upon confirmation, the button will become inactive for five minutes to prevent multiple sync attempts in a short period. Once the synchronization process is complete, the button will become active again.

 

 

The button is only available if the property is linked to a PMS. This feature provides greater control over stay data synchronization, ensuring that any urgent updates are reflected in Lynx without delay.
