How To: Activate Preprogrammed Wifi Modules for Yale Locks
For Module Activation with Z wave locks, click here
When to use this article:
This is only for modules that were pre programmed by Lynx. If you are setting up a new Yale Wifi lock, please review this article.
When a lock is purchased from Lynx, it will typically have a Wi-Fi module that is pre-programmed for the specific door. The lock and module will be shipped separately, so you will need to connect them on site after installation.
In order to use these modules, you have to activate the module, below is a couple of key notes to remember before activating the module in your new lock.:
- Pick the Module labeled for the property you are installing as these are pre-programmed for the specific property.
- Ensure the lock is installed first, the module goes in next, and the batteries are inserted last.
- Make sure that you are using the correct module for your lock. A module set up for a YRD216 (deadbolt) lock should go into a YRD216, while a module that was programmed for a YRL216 (lever lock) must be installed in a YRL216.
Note: If you are using existing locks and modules programmed by us, please ensure to
reset the lock with the old module before proceeding with the steps listed below.
The lock should be reset using the Yale app instead of manually resetting it from the lock itself.
