How To: Add Lynx Access Codes in Track
You can share the Lynx generated access code via Track in two ways: Merge Field and Guest Portal.
CRITICAL WARNING: In the Track UI at the unit level, DO NOT choose "Lynx" as a lock provider. This is an outdated legacy connection method. Selecting "Lynx" within Track will trigger a failed token request and revoke existing door codes. Connections must only be managed within the Lynx portal using Track's API credentials.
Method 1: Merge Field
You can directly insert the access code into Track messaging templates using the following merge field:
{{reservation.doorCode}}
Method 2: Guest Portal
| Step | Actions |
| Step 1: Access Guest App | Navigate to the guest app on the home screen within Track. |
| Step 2: Configuration Settings |
There are configurable options for displaying the code. Go to: Configurations > Guest Portal > Preferences > Rental Settings |
| Step 3: Display Preferences |
|
Using Lynx Messaging Automation
You can also send the guest another email or text from Lynx directly via Messaging Automation. Send it a few days or hours before check-in, or exactly at the time of check-in.
Use tag <<ACCESS_CODE_INSTRUCTIONS>>
See an example below of the text and image that will be sent to the guest. The guest will see the code, instructions to operate the lock, as well as an image of the lock. Clear access instructions like these mean your guests will be far less likely to call for their access codes or ask for help with the locks.
