These steps are based on the US version of this lock.
The Checklist:
- SmartThings Login Credentials
- Mobile Device
- 5 Digits off of the front of the Z wave module, inside the lock.
The Process, Part 1, Exclusion
Step 1: | Open the SmartThings App and click the Home Button at the top left. |
Step 2: | Click all devices. Find the hub you will be connecting to your lock and click on it. |
Make sure to locate the specific device that you will be working with.
Step 3: | Click on the three dots in the top right corner |
Step 4: | Click Z-Wave Utilities |
Step 5: | Click Exclusion. When you see the circle spinning in the app, go to the lock and enter in the sequence |
YRD216 Sequence: | Enter this onto the lock "Master Code *Gear* 7 *Gear* 3 *Gear*" The lock will make an ascending sound if it was connected to a device and a descending sound if the lock was not connected to anything before. In both cases, you can move on to the next steps. (If the lock turns blue after pressing 7 gear, then press 1 gear, instead of 3 gear) |
YRD110 Sequence | Lift the battery cover and hold the radio/wifi button down for 5 beeps then let go. |
The Process, Part 2: Pairing.
Step 1: | From the Home Screen, press the '+' button |
Step 2: | Use the magnifying glass at the top to search 'Yale' |
Click the Yale Company Logo when it Pops Up. |
Step 3: | Choose Door Locks |
Step 4: | Choose Yale Integrated Z Wave Plus |
Note: | Make Sure to choose Z wave plus and not Yale Z wave, these locks use a special chip to connect the Smartthings Hub. |
Step 5: | Once you choose the hub and the room, you will then be guided to the pairing screen. |
Note: | The pairing screen will tell you about the button, these steps are for if you do not have the button |
Step 6: | Go the Lock and enter in the sequence |
YRD216 Sequence: | Master Code *Gear* 4 *Gear* 1 *Gear* |
YRD110 Sequence | Lift the battery cover and hold the radio/wifi button down for 2 beeps then let go |
Wait until you have a confirmation in the app that the lock has been added. If it errors out or never shows, start the entire process over starting with the exclusion. If that does not work please call support. |
