Understanding: Smart Locks with Limited Code Slots
Most smart locks can store multiple access codes in "slots". Lynx uses these slots to identify which code is assigned to a guest, user, or other individual, and grant or deny access accordingly.
However, each lock model provides a different number of code slots, which affects how the lock should be configured for optimum performance. For example, many Kwikset and Schlage Z-Wave locks provide either 19 slots (Schlage BE369, some FE599 models) or 30 slots (Schlage BE469, Kwikset 914 and similar). Lynx recommends that you set up these locks with as few permanent-user codes as possible, to ensure that there are enough slots for other codes (especially guest codes) to sync.
Note: Schlage Encode locks do not share these code restrictions. Most Encode locks have
100 code slots.
Recommended User/Group configuration for locks with limited code memory
You can create a dedicated Group for locks that have a limited number of code slots, and only assign a small number of users with access codes to the Group. For locks with 19 slots, we recommend assigning a maximum of 5 permanent and/or Shared Key users. Locks with 30 slots can be assigned up to 7 permanent and/or Shared Key users.
NOTE: Unlinking properties from a Group will prevent any users not linked to that Group
from viewing or accessing the property in Lynx! You will need to log as the super-admin /
account owner to complete this setup. You can find additional details here:

How to configure custom groups for locks with limited code slots:
Actions | |
Step 1: |
Create a new Group for your properties using locks with limited code slots. It is recommended to use a name for the Group that reflects its intended use. |
Step 2: |
Remove the properties using locks with limited code slots from all other groups.
|
Step 3: |
Link user accounts to the new Group. Remember to select only the users who will need regular access - we recommend a maximum of 7 users for locks with 30 code slots, or 5 users for locks with 19 code slots.
|
Step 4: | Link all properties using locks with limited code slots to the new Group. |
Step 5: |
Verify that only the assigned users' codes are being synced to the locks:
