Getting Started: Mapping PMS Custom Fields
Lynx now offers customizable property detail mapping for both Track and Streamline, with support for additional PMS platforms coming soon!
Mapping PMS Standard and Custom Fields in Lynx offers several benefits, enabling efficient and accurate property management:
- Streamlined Data Sync: Custom mapping allows fields in Lynx to directly sync with corresponding fields in the Property Management System (PMS). This eliminates the need for manual data entry, saving time and reducing errors.
- Customizability: By mapping specific fields, users can tailor the system to align with their operational needs, ensuring that relevant information is accurately captured and reflected.
- Improved Efficiency: Automatic synchronization keeps property details updated in real-time, ensuring consistency between Lynx and the PMS without repeated manual interventions.
- Future Scalability: As Lynx expands support to additional PMS platforms, custom mapping ensures compatibility and adaptability across diverse systems, accommodating evolving business needs.
- Centralized Management: Property details from multiple PMS platforms, such as Track or Streamline, can be managed within Lynx, simplifying oversight and operations across properties.
By leveraging these capabilities, property managers can ensure data accuracy, improve operational workflows, and maintain consistency across platforms.
Before starting, make sure you have:
- PMS credentials for either TRACK or Streamline. These credentials are required to link account in Lynx.
- The necessary API token and API Secret, which can be obtained from your PMS.
Here are the steps for the overall process, each step has its own specific article that goes into the details:
- Connect your PMS to Lynx (skip if already completed): - Setting up the Integration
- Link the PMS listing for each property to its corresponding property in Lynx (skip if already completed): - Linking your integration to its corresponding property
- Sync your PMS fields to Lynx - Sync the PMS Fields to Lynx.
- If a field from your PMS doesn't already have a corresponding field in Lynx, you can create a custom field - Creating Custom Lynx Fields
The Following are optional steps:
- If you want to stop syncing a mapped field, you can unmap the connection to just that field without deleting the others - Unmap a Mapped PMS Field with Lynx Standard/Custom Field
- After you've mapped the desired field(s), you can view the mapping in each property's "Property Details" section - View the Mapped PMS Field Values in Property Details
- Once fields are mapped, you can preview how these will appear in guest communications from Lynx Messaging - Custom Field Category in Messaging - Template
- We've also created another article that shows what happens if you want to update or delete a PMS Field
