How To: Pair a Schlage BE469 Lock with Samsung Hub

Use Case:

1.	In the event, your Schlage lock (Lock) is Offline, it will most likely be that the Lock and Samsung SmartThings Hub (Hub) have stopped communicating. There are several ways to troubleshoot an offline lock but one of the resolutions is to "pair" them again.
2.	If you have an existing Hub or Lock and you have purchased the other device to onboard them on Lynx.
3.	You were using the competitor's software and have a compatible lock you wish to re-use. If you have not, place an order with Lynx to order the pre-programmed Hub. Upon receipt of the Hub, follow the process to pair them below.

What You Need:

Before beginning the pairing process, you will need the following:
1.	Your Hub plugged into both power and an ethernet cable (or on WiFi), showing a solid green LED.
2.	A mobile device (phone or tablet) with the Smarthings app downloaded.
	Be sure you do not download the SmartThings Classic app. The icon for the app should look like this one:
3.	Credentials for the Samsung account in which the Hub is configured.
4.	Programming code for the Lock (located on the back of the lock
5.	The 5 Digit code under the QR code (Newer Model BE469).

The Process:

Step 1:	Ensure the Hub and Lock are within 10 ft of each other.
	You can temporarily bring the Hub closer by using a longer ethernet cable and plugging it into a socket closest to the lock.

Step 2:	Reset the Z-wave connection to make sure it is not paired with anything else.
	To do this in the SmartThings mobile app:

	1.	From the Home screen, touch Menu (), and select Devices.
	2.	Touch the Hub and select More Options ().
	3.	Touch Z-Wave Utilities and select Z-Wave Exclusion.
	4.	When prompted, follow the removal process:

	a.	Touch the screen (only If a touchscreen lock).
	b.	Enter the 6 digit programming code followed by 0, or press the "enroll" button.
	C.	Wait for the app to indicate the device was successfully removed.

Step 3:

To pair the lock, while still in the app, make sure you are in the correct location, the location should match the location the hub was added to.

	1.	Press the " + " icon, then select Add Device.
	2.	Search 'Schlage' and click on the company logo when it pops up.
	3.	Select 'Door Locks'.
	4.	Select 'Schlage Connect Z Wave'.
	5.	Choose the Hub the Lock is being paired to and Room, then touch Next.
	6.	The next screen will show steps on how to connect the lock. Follow the onscreen steps on how to connect your lock. If your model Schlage has a QR code on the Programming sheet, located on the inside panel of the lock, then the app will now ask you to take a picture or enter the 5 digit code that is under the QR code (This is the code I asked that you write down before). When the lock has been connected this screen will update to show the lock connected.

Step 4:

Once completed, please reach out to Support at onboarding@getlynx.co to complete the device onboarding. Make sure to provide the property name, and lock name.
