How to: Reset Yale Lock Physically
A factory reset erases all the existing codes from your lock, restoring it to its original, out-of-the-box settings. Here are the steps to reset a Yale lock.
Step 1: |
Remove the battery cover and batteries. |
Step 2: |
To access the Reset button, remove the screws on the battery compartment and top/bottom. Depending on the lock model, the screw positions might be different. |
Step 3: |
Once the screws are removed, pull off the back part carefully to access the reset button the circuit board. The reset button (see image) is located beside the PCB cable connector. |
Step 4: |
While pressing the reset button (for a minimum of 3 seconds) reinstall batteries and release the reset button. You should hear confirmation sound from the lock once the reset is done successfully. |
Step 5: |
Replace the battery cover. |
Step 6: |
Once Factory reset performed enter below sequence to register master code on the lock Gear>1>Gear>Master code>1 |
Important-Upon reset, Master Entry Code creation is the only option available and must be
entered.
