How to: Yale Assure Lock (Z-Wave) & Ezlo Hub Pairing
This KB article outlines the required steps to successfully pair a Yale Assure Z-Wave lock to an Ezlo Smart Hub so it can be managed by Lynx. It is categorized in the following sections:
What the Client Does
- Install the Yale Assure lock securely on the door and ensure the Z-Wave network module is seated properly in the battery compartment before inserting the batteries.
- Create a Master Entry Code (4-8 digits) on the lock. Yale requires a Master Code to be set before any network pairing can occur.
- Ensure the Ezlo Hub is plugged in, connected to the internet, and showing online in the app.
- Initiate the Z-Wave pairing (Inclusion) mode via the Ezlo app or dashboard.
- Perform the physical network pairing sequence on the Yale keypad (or via the interior physical pairing button on legacy models).
- Rename the newly paired lock in the portal to reflect the correct room or door name.
What Lynx Does
- Automatically detects and syncs the newly paired Yale lock from the Ezlo hub into the Lynx platform.
- Maps the physical lock to the corresponding digital property and door within the software.
- Automatically generates and pushes time-sensitive 4-digit access codes to the lock for guest reservations.
- Monitors lock health, providing real-time platform alerts for low batteries or offline network status.

Common Questions / FAQs
- Why is the "7" button not showing up in the menu? The network module menu (Option 7) will only appear if you have successfully created a Master Entry Code first, AND if the physical Z-Wave module is firmly seated in the slot above the batteries. Note: If you have a legacy YRD110 lock, it does not use a keypad menu for pairing; please use the physical pairing button instead.
- How do I unpair or exclude the lock? Put your Ezlo hub into Exclusion mode. For general models using a keypad: enter Master Code - ⚙️ - 7 - ⚙️ - 3 - ⚙️. For the legacy YRD110: press and hold the interior physical network button until the unit beeps five (5) times, then release.
- Does this lock connect directly to Wi-Fi? This specific guide is for the Yale Assure Z-Wave models (green module). It requires a Z-Wave hub like Ezlo. If you are using a Yale Wi-Fi Connect module (CBA), you will use the Yale Access app instead.
- Can Lynx manage the master programming code? No, the master programming code is stored directly on the hardware. Lynx pushes and manages the 4-digit guest access codes. You must store your master programming code securely.
- Can clients request customized access code lengths? Yes, customized access code lengths can be requested for Yale locks. Here are the expected code lengths and formats for different code types (applies to Yale Wifi/Yale Access App and SmartThings integration for Yale locks)
