How To: Activate Preprogrammed Z-Wave Modules for Yale Locks
For Module Activation with Wifi modules, click here
When a Lock is purchased from Lynx, you will receive 2 separate packages. One package contains the lock(s). The second package contains the Hub and the Z-wave modules. The Hub and the Z-wave modules are typically pre-programmed.
In order to use these modules, you have to activate the module, below is a couple of key notes to remember before activating the module in your new lock.:
- Pick any lock for installation from the box- there is no pre-programming on the lock.
- Pick the Hub and Module labeled for the property you are installing as these are pre-programmed for the specific property.
- Ensure the lock is installed first, the module goes in next, and the batteries are inserted last. The hub must be plugged in before the module activation is performed.
- Make sure that you are using the correct module. A module set up on a YRD216 lock should go into a YRD216 lock, the same goes for a YRL216 lock.
- The module has to be at least version 1.8 otherwise this process will not work.
- This process is for a new lock, skip to step 4 if your lock already has a master code or was pre programmed.
